Clinical Features, Classifications and Diagnosis of Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders
Yun Chang-Ho

Abstract
Circadian rhythm sleep disorders (CRSD) results from the abnormal relationship of the timing of sleep and wake to either the internal 24-hour circadian clock or the external clock time. That is, sleep-and-wake cycle is out of phase with the internal or external environment. As a result, patients suffer from insomnia or excessive daytime sleepiness. CRSD can be classified according to the type of desynchronization, such as internal or external desynchornization. In this article, clinical pictures, epidemiologic findings, pathophysiologies and diagnostic criteria of various CRSD are summarized.
